Bill, aka Wild Bill, aka Dempsey, was born in California in Monterey Bay area. He came from fishermen, and followed in his Father's footsteps, earning his living from the sea. He called Moss Landing his home for a majority of his life. He fell in love, married, bought a home, and had a daughter, Donna Bosworth. But the sea kept calling, and he was divorced soon after her birth.
Bill/Dempsey continued being a commercial fisherman until his 60's, selling his catch off of his boat, the Beticia. In the prime of his career, the captain and his boat were inseparable. They were known widely in the fishing community, as a captain of great skill and talent, and boat of immense capacity. Together, they charted the ever changing waters and marine politics.
Bill/Dempsey was a man full of wit and charismatic charm. He inspired the trust and loyalty of many Moss Landing residents, including the man, Anthony, who would later become his caretaker in his final years. Thanks to Anthony and his wife Lisa's loyalty and compassion, Dempsey moved with them to Florida, giving him the opportunity to start anew, as Bill, where he delved into one of his first loves, the earth. Bill spent his final years caretaking the grounds around their home, out in the sun with his hands in the dirt, until he was unable to do so anymore.
He is loved, and he is missed, by his daughter and sister, his friends, and the communities he was a part of. Till next time❤️
